OverviewIn this learning topics, students are tasked with setting up ratios and converting them to unit rates. Students are also asked to interpret rates and rates and find equivalent ratios based on the context of the realworld problem. Using tables and bar diagrams helps students organize the relationships of the quantities and find ratios with other quantities. This understanding can be extending to the coordinate plane in which the ratios are interpreted graphically. Finally, students are asked to solve problems in which they need to find a certain quantity as part of a relationship that exists in a certain ratio or rate. This can be accomplished using proportion statements (equations) or bar/number diagrams.
